Fuan Temple Origin & Early Background

• Fuan Temple is a Taoist temple located at 12 Jurong West Street 76, Singapore 648349.

• It is a registered temple and charity in Singapore.

Founding & Relocation

• Historical accounts indicate that Fuan Temple was first established in Singapore by Chinese immigrants from Anxi in Fujian province, China.

• The temple’s community originally built it in the early 19th century in a district now known as Holland Village.

• Due to urban redevelopment during Singapore’s growth, the temple was moved several times:

  • Later relocated to 386A Clementi Road.

  • In the 1980s, Singapore’s Urban Redevelopment Authority asked the temple to move again.

  • In 1996, the temple was allocated its current location and became part of a larger combined temple complex.

Community & Rituals

• The temple is overseen by a management committee responsible for religious rites and community activities.

• Traditional practices include Taoist rituals, periodic worship services, and community engagement.

Cultural & Diaspora Roots

   所筹集之善款，将捐赠予本地认可的慈善机构及有需要的群体，以实际行动扶助弱势、温暖人心。

4. 履行社会责任
   作为宗教团体，持续以有系统、有透明度的方式参与社会公益，回馈社会大众。

Fuan Temple, upholding the spirit of compassion and giving back to society, is committed to promoting orthodox religious culture and actively engaging in social care and charitable activities. Our mission includes:

1. Promoting Compassion: Rooted in religious faith, we advocate doing good deeds, caring for others, and promoting social harmony.

2. Promoting Charity: To adapt to changes in the social environment and to more effectively utilize donations, the temple will hold three charity events annually for fundraising.

3. Caring for the Vulnerable: Funds raised will be donated to locally recognized charitable organizations and groups in need, providing practical assistance to the vulnerable and warming hearts.

4. Fulfilling Social Responsibility: As a religious organization, we continuously participate in social welfare in a systematic and transparent manner, giving back to the community.
